CONSUL GENERAL MELANIE DIANO AND SECRETARY OF STATE ROBERT EVNEN AFFIRM PHILIPPINES-NEBRASKA TIES

18 August 2025, Lincoln, Nebraska - Philippine Consul General in Chicago Atty. Melanie Rita B. Diano had a productive meeting with Nebraska Secretary of State Robert Evnen on 18 August 2025 at the Wherry Room in Nebraska State Capitol.
Secretary Evnen recognized the significant contributions of Filipino teachers, nurses and other medical professionals in Nebraska, including the work of such Filipino-American politicians as Senator Rita Sanders and former representative Tony Fulton. He also acknowledged the role of the Philippines in ensuring peace and stability in the South China Sea.
The Consul General invited Nebraska to undertake a trade mission to the Philippines, in consideration of the robust trade relations between the Philippines and Nebraska.
The Philippine Delegation was composed of Consul Ma. Theresa Alders as notetaker and Mr. Richard Osea as protocol officer [END].
