The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Ella Karina Mitra, Cultural Officer Mary Joy Duran-Mortel, Protocol Officer Martyn Orcine, and Consular Assistant Janice Kathlene Lobien, attended the annual Santacruzan Mass and procession at St. Michael Catholic Church in Wheaton, IL on 18 May 2025. The event was organized by the Santacruzan Cultural Group of Greater Chicago, led by its President, Ms. Joanne Turija, and the World Apostolate of Fatima, Joliet Division.

Theresa Alders and Mr. Richard Osea, attended the Mayflower Festival / Santacruzan, organized by the Filipinos of St. Gregory (FSG), at St. Gregory Church in the Andersonville neighborhood of Chicago, Illinois.
On 18 May 2025, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Melvin Almonguera and Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Atty. Mark Arinquin, attended Sinag's group exhibition, its first art show for 2025, at the Evanston Public Library in Evanston, Illinois. With the title “Sining sa Silangan,” the event featured over 40 artworks on display, including paintings, photography and paper carvings, among others.
CHICAGO 14 May 2025– The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago conducted a hybrid mini-seminar on Philippine healthcare BPO on 13 May 2025 at the Consulate’s Kalayaan Hall (also livestreamed via Zoom). With the title “Bridging Filipino-American Businesses and the Philippine Healthcare BPO,” the event was attended by some 45 entrepreneurs, who are mostly Filipino-American home health agency owners and managers.
