CHICAGO 30 June 2025– On 27 June 2025, the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago launched “Halina’t Tuklasin ang Negosyong Pinas” (Let’s Discover PHL Business), which coincided with the United Nations’ “Micro-, Small, and Medium-sized Enterprises Day” (MSME Day).
The Consulate’s Economic Diplomacy Unit promoted PHL MSMEs to Dual Citizenship applicants who took their “Oath of Allegiance” last Friday. It played the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) short video on 7Ms (Mindset Change, Mastery, Mentoring, Money, Machine, Market Access and Models of Negosyo) Way of Uplifting MSMEs for said applicants, many of whom have plans pursue a business in the country. The Dual Citizenship clients expressed appreciation for the information on the government’s support through DTI’s Negosyo Centers for prospective MSME entrepreneurs, including in business registration, financing programs and market access.
Per the DTI’s latest figures, 99.63 of the total establishments in the PHL is comprised of MSMEs. The Consulate General will continue to hold the initiative every Dual Citizenship oath-taking on Fridays and will play DTI’s short video on loop for its other consular clients. END
