15 April 2025, Chicago, Illinois - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, in collaboration with the Commission on Elections-Office for Overseas Voting, hosted its first hybrid town hall and mass enrollment for Filipino overseas voters on 15 April 2025 at the Consulate General’s Kalayaan Hall.

During the event, COMELEC-OFOV Director, Atty. Ian Michel Geonanga, gave a
walkthrough of the safeguards of online voting, putting emphasis on the integrity of the system without compromising the secrecy of the ballots. Director Geonanga also addressed queries and concerns from the audience, posed by those who attended in-person and via Zoom.

The Consulate General will conduct its next town hall meeting, with mass pre-voting enrollment and voting activities, on 26 April 2025 in Warren, Michigan; on 03 May 2025 in Springfield, Illinois; on 04 May 2025 in West Chester, Ohio; and on 09 May 2025 in Austintown, Ohio. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own smartphone devices with their accepted Philippine ID and/or Identification Certificate.
Registered overseas voters are reminded that pre-voting enrollment will end on 07 May 2025 while online voting will end on 12 May 2025 at 7:00 PM (Philippine Standard Time).END
