PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL IN CHICAGO LAUNCHES THE 2024 VERY
IMPORTANT PINOY (VIP) TOUR IN THE MIDWEST
Chicago, 16 February 2024 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago launched the
2024 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour on 16 February 2024 at the Atrium of the National
Louis University in Chicago, IL. The Midwest launch was attended by 39 leaders and
members representing 19 Filipino community organizations in the Midwest.
Representatives of airlines and travel agencies.
Consul General J. Susana V. Paez opened the event with her welcome remarks where
she invited the leaders and members of the community to join the tour and serve as PH
tourism ambassadors moving forward. She likewise invited the different community
leaders and members to work hand in hand with the Consulate as it strives to continually
improve the VIP Tour.
New York-based Tourism Attaché Francisco Lardizabal presented the Department of
Tourism’s new campaign, “Love the Philippines,” which lays the groundwork for the
itinerary of this year’s VIP Tour.http://viptourphilippines2023.com
Mr. Jose Clemente, President of Rajah Tours, who joined the launch online, discussed
the detailed itinerary and the arrangements of the tour.
The VIP Tour, also formerly known as the Ambassador, Consuls General, and Tourism
Directors Tour, is a tourism initiative of the Department of Foreign Affairs, through the
Philippine Embassy and different Consulates in the United States, and the Department of
Tourism. The 2024 VIP Tour is scheduled to take place from 21 to 30 July and will take
the participants to Manila, Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, and Iligan.
