CONSULATE GENERAL ATTENDS SAMAHAN SA BARYO’S ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION
The Consulate General, represented by Consul Melvin Almonguera and Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Atty. Mark Arinquin, graced the Samahan sa Baryo’s golden anniversary celebration on 19 September 2025 held in Lemont, Illinois.
Attended by some 100 Filipinos and Filipino-Americans mostly from the southwestern suburbs of Chicago, the event highlighted the organization’s contributions throughout the years. It also honored the Samahan’s past leaders who steered the group’s programs linking communities and uplifting the lives of Filipinos, both in the US and the Philippines, through its outreach activities.
Reading the message of the Consul General, Consul Almonguera commended the group’s steadfast objective of uniting Filipinos in the suburbs, under the leadership of its current Kapitana, Ms. Zenaida Zapanta, to provide assistance to communities in the Philippines. He likewise urged eligible Overseas Voters to register and vote in connection with the resumption of Overseas Voters Registration on 01 December 2025. END
