PHILIPPINE CONSULATE GENERAL JOINS ZAMNAI’S HUDJAKA SA CHICAGO 2025

CHICAGO, IL 09 August 2025 – The Philippine Consulate General, represented by Consul Ella Karina Mitra, Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Atty. Mark Arinquin, and Administrative Assistant Richard Osea, attended the Hudyaka sa Chicago 2025 held at Labagh Woods on 09 August 2025. This annual activity is organized by the Zamboanga Del Norte Association of Illinois (ZAMNAI) every summer.

The Hudyaka sa Chicago serves as a vibrant celebration of Filipino culture and heritage, bringing together members of the Filipino-American community in the Chicago area. The event featured traditional Filipino festivities, cultural performances, and community fellowship that highlighted the rich traditions of Zamboanga del Norte province.

ZAMNAI President Joshua Amado Bicoy expressed his gratitude to the Consulate for its participation in the event and its unwavering support to the organization and its members. The presence of Consulate officials underscores the Philippine government's commitment to maintaining strong ties with Filipino communities abroad and supporting cultural preservation efforts.

The annual Hudyaka celebration continues to serve as an important platform for cultural exchange and community building among Filipino-Americans in the greater Chicago area, fostering connections that bridge the homeland and diaspora communities.

ZAMNAI is a community organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the culture and traditions of Zamboanga del Norte province while supporting Filipino-Americans in the Chicago metropolitan area.
