Chicago, Illinois, 25 July 2026 – The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Ella Karina Mitra, joined the Chicago Healthcare Alliance Lions Club's (CHALC) Governor's Day Celebration and Installation of Officers and Induction of New Members held at Lions Woods Grove 01 in Des Plaines, Illinois.

Held under the theme "International Picnic Party," the event brought together Lions Club officers, members, community leaders, partners, and guests in celebration of another year of service, fellowship, and community engagement. The program recognized CHALC members and partner organizations for their valuable contributions to the club's charitable and humanitarian initiatives through the presentation of service awards.

A highlight of the celebration was the installation of CHALC's new set of officers, led by incoming President Ms. Yeye Encina, who succeeds outgoing President Ms. Lea Agaton, as well as the induction of new members. The ceremony was officiated by District Governor Ben Zoleta, the first Filipino-American to serve as District Governor of Lions Clubs International District 1-A. END
