CHICAGO PCG CONNECTS WITH SINING PRESENTS, COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO’S FIRST FILIPINO STUDENT ORGANIZATION

The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Ella Karina R. Mitra and Ms. Rocylyn T. De Leon, graced the kick-off event of SINING Presents on 06 May 2025 at the Columbia College Chicago Student Center. Also present at the event were Mr. Clare Lake, International Student and Scholar Services Director, and Ms. Monika Jaiswal-Oliver, Academic Manager, School of Business and Entrepreneurship.

SINING Presents is Columbia College Chicago’s first and newly recognized Filipino student organization, and is dedicated to showcasing the Filipino culture and artistry to the Columbia community. Ms. Erin Ruselle De Leon, founder and president of SINING Presents introduced the organization and its current roster of officers.

The event featured Filipino food, music, culture, apparel giveaways in partnership with Abakada, a Filipino streetwear clothing brand based in Chicago, and concert ticket giveaways in partnership with Live Nation to promote the concert of Filipino pop group, BINI, in June.

Consul Mitra, on behalf of Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano, congratulated SINING Presents, and expressed hope to collaborate with the them in creating meaningful cultural experiences for the students of Columbia College.END
