Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano attended the Fil-Am Baroque Ensemble concert presented by the FilAm Music Foundation on 20 December 2025 at the First Presbyterian Church of Evanston, in Evanston, Illinois. The concert was led by the Foundation’s founder and artistic director, Mr. Victor Santiago Asuncion.
The Fil-Am Baroque Ensemble delighted the audience with a rich and evocative program that blended beloved Filipino Christmas carols with masterpieces from the Baroque era. The ensemble performed classic Filipino holiday favorites such as Pasko na Sinta Ko and Ang Pasko ay Sumapit, alongside celebrated works by renowned Baroque composers Johann Sebastian Bach and Antonio Vivaldi. The program highlighted both the depth of Filipino musical heritage and the ensemble’s versatility in interpreting Western classical traditions.
After the concert, the Consul General expressed her appreciation to Mr. Asuncion for the invitation and commended the Fil-Am Baroque Ensemble for its artistic excellence. She also explored possible ways for the Consulate and the FilAm Music Foundation to collaborate in future initiatives aimed at showcasing Filipino talent to a broader and more diverse audience.
