The Philippine Consulate General represented by Cultural Officer Mary Joy Duran-Mortel attended the holiday gathering hosted by the Filipino American Historical Society of Chicago (FAHSC) and the Filipino American and Filipino American National Historical Society (FANHS) Greater Chicago Chapter on 14 December 2025 at the Mana Contemporary Museum in Chicago, Illinois.

FAHSC President Ruben Salazar delivered a warm welcome and provided a brief history of the organization and its mission. While Cultural Officer Duran-Mortel highlighted the strong partnership between the FAHSC and FANHS Greater Chicago Chapter and participated in the event by leading the oath-taking ceremony for the newly elected officers of FAHSC, reaffirming the organizations’ commitments to preserving and promoting Filipino history and culture in the Chicago area.

The occasion was attended by members, friends, and supporters dedicated to celebrating Filipino heritage and community. The Philippine Consulate General continues to support initiatives that foster Filipino community spirit and cultural heritage abroad.
