CHICAGO 28 July 2026– A five-member delegation from the U.S. Midwest joined the U.S. Business Mission to the Philippines from 06 to 10 July 2026 to explore trade, investment, and partnership opportunities across key growth sectors in the country. Organized by the Philippine Trade and Investment Center–New York (PTIC-NY), the mission brought together American business leaders and investors from the U.S. Northeast and the U.S. Midwest for a series of engagements in Manila, Clark, and Subic Bay as part of the commemoration of the 80th anniversary of PHL–U.S. diplomatic relations. The Midwest delegation included Ms. Mae Espina, President of the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC).

21 July 2026 - The Resident Election and Registration Board (RERB), led by Chairperson Ma. Theresa M. Alders, together with members, Atty. Eunika Lesli R. Leyva-Tiongco and Mr. Dennis V. Marnilego, heard and approved three hundred fifty (350) overseas voting applications for registration, certification, correction of entries, and transfers filed with the Consulate General from 01 April 2026 to 30 June 2026.

9 March 2026 (Friday), Chicago - The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago launched the “80 for 80” Project, which aims to document and recognize Filipino-American women’s work in the midwest United States that raise the profile of the Philippines, as well as benefit Filipinos and Filipino-Americans. The “80 for 80” Project is a brainchild of the Consulate’s Gender and Development Section in support of the 2026 National Women’s Month Celebration (NWMC) and the 80th anniversary of Philippines-United States diplomatic friendship.
