The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, represented by Consul Melvin Almonguera and Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Atty. Mark Arinquin, took part in the Business and Career Growth Summit organized by the Philippine American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Chicago (PACCGC) on October 24, 2026, at Harper College in Palatine, Illinois.

As part of the summit’s “Lunch Lineup,” Consul Almonguera presented the Consulate’s services for Filipino-American entrepreneurs and professionals across the U.S. Midwest. He also expressed the Consulate’s hope that they would continue to succeed in their respective fields, grow their businesses, and advance their careers, while finding opportunities to give back to the Philippines and contribute to a positive image of Filipinos in the U.S.

Consul Almonguera likewise joined the Young Professionals Panel, attended by Filipino-American young professionals and Harper College students. He gave an overview of the Philippine Foreign Service and of the Foreign Service Officers Examination as a pathway for those interested in pursuing a career in diplomacy and public service.

The full-day summit brought together Filipino-American entrepreneurs, professionals, and students in Chicagoland for discussions on business, healthcare, legal matters, marketing, young professionals, and other topics related to career development and business growth. END
