CONSUL GENERAL GRACES THE FILIPINO FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY OF BOLINGBROOK 50TH ANNIVERSARY GALA

Consul General Atty. Melanie Rita B. Diano participated in the Filipino Friendship Society of Bolingbrook (FFS) 50th Anniversary Gala on 03 October 2025, held at Crystal Grand Banquets in Lemont, Illinois.

In her keynote remarks, Consul General Diano commended FFS’ past and present leaders for transforming what began as a small gathering of Filipino immigrants in Chicago's southwest suburbs into a thriving community that educates younger generations of Filipino Americans about their heritage.

Bolingbrook Mayor Mary Alexander-Basta also attended the event as a guest speaker.

Under the leadership of President Michael Palmaira, FFS has embodied its logo's representation of "Togetherness and Cooperativeness" through active participation in civic and social programs while fostering a deeper appreciation of Philippine heritage among Filipinos and Filipino Americans. END
