The Consulate General, represented by Consul Melvin Almonguera, administered the oath of office to the newly elected officers of the Philippine Nurses Association of Greater Chicago (PNAGC) during the organization’s gala held on 03 October 2025 at Allegra Banquets, Schiller Park, Illinois. He was accompanied by Assistance-to-Nationals Officer Atty. Mark Arinquin.
PNAGC President Ms. Ma. Gemma Esmalla outlined her priority programs, which include the sustainment of their continuing education sessions and of the scholarship initiatives for students in the Philippines. During the event, the Association also conferred the Nurse Excellence Award on seven (07) Filipino nurses who exemplify the organization’s ideals and have brought honor to the Filipino name.
Reading the Consul General’s message, Consul Almonguera congratulated the newly inducted officers and encouraged them to remain steadfast in promoting the welfare and professional growth of their members. He also paid tribute to the Nurse Excellence Awardees and to all Filipino nurses in the US Midwest for their vital role in strengthening the healthcare system and serving as beacons of compassion, skill, and professionalism.
