CHICAGO PCG JOINS COMMUNITY CELEBRATION OF BUWAN NG WIKA
The Philippine Consulate General in Chicago, led by Consul Ella Karina Mitra, celebrated Buwan ng Wika (Philippine National Language Month) alongside the local Filipino community on 31 August 2025, at the Glendale Heights Sports Hub in Glendale Heights, Illinois.
Organized primarily by Mr. Norman Paredes, the vibrant event showcased the richness of Filipino heritage through displays of local talent, traditional culture, authentic cuisine, and community enterprise, bringing together Filipinos and friends to honor their linguistic and cultural identity.
The event, which is the first-ever community celebration of Buwan ng Wika in Glendale Heights, underscored the vital importance of preserving and honoring the Filipino language as a cornerstone of cultural identity.
