PH CONSUL GENERAL JOINED THE CELEBRATION OF THE PHILIPPINE MEDICAL ASSOCIATION IN CHICAGO’S 66TH ANNIVERSARY AND INDUCTION OF OFFICERS

CHICAGO, IL 31 August 2026 - Consul General Melanie Rita B. Diano joined the Philippine Medical Association in Chicago (PMAC) in celebrating its 66th Anniversary and 60th Auxiliary Induction Ball held at the Hyatt Regency O’Hare Chicago on 29 August 2026.

Consul General Diano served as guest speaker during the event, which brought together Filipino and Filipino-American physicians, healthcare professionals, and community leaders from across the Greater Chicago area.

In her keynote address, Consul General Diano commended PMAC for its longstanding commitment to professional excellence, continuing medical education, and service to the Filipino-American community. She also recognized the important role of the PMAC Auxiliary in supporting the organization’s community outreach and humanitarian initiatives.

Consul General Diano also highlighted the contributions of Filipino and Filipino-American healthcare professionals not only to their respective fields but also to the communities they serve. She noted that these contributions take on added significance as the Philippines and the United States commemorate the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, underscoring how people-to-people ties continue to strengthen the longstanding partnership between the two countries.

During the program, Consul General Diano likewise administered the oath of office of the newly elected officers of PMAC and its Auxiliary. Founded in 1960, PMAC brings together Filipino and Filipino-American medical professionals in the Greater Chicago area and promotes professional development, continuing medical education, community service, and humanitarian initiatives.
