Meanwhile, Consul Mitra presented Plaques of Recognition from the Philippine Consulate General in Chicago to PIWC Overall Chairman Reynel Espiritu and PIWC Board of Trustees President Mercy Matousek in recognition of their invaluable contributions and steadfast leadership in promoting Philippine culture and strengthening the Filipino American community in the Midwest.

Attended by approximately 1,000 guests, this year's Gala Night featured various cultural performances, a traditional rigodon dance, and the parade of PIWC beauty queens. The Guest of Honor and Keynote Speaker was Mr. Aaron Del Mar, candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois and a proud Filipino American.

For decades, the PIWC Gala Night has been one of the largest and most anticipated celebrations of Philippine Independence in the Midwest, bringing together Filipinos and friends of the Philippines in a vibrant display of heritage, unity, and community spirit. END
