teachers in Chicago under J1 Program
The Philippine Consulate General represented by Consul Ella Karina Mitra, Cultural Officer Mary Joy Duran-Mortel, and Protocol Officer Martyn Asker Orcine, supported the "Star ng Pasko" celebration organized by the Filipino Teachers under the J1 program of the Chicago Public School held on 05 December 2025 at Bernhard Moos Elementary School.
The event featured a cultural production organized by Mr. Daryll Baculio, a J1 teacher, highlighting the Christmas traditions of the Philippines and shed light on the experiences of Filipinos overseas during the holiday season. Through vibrant performances and storytelling, the production aimed to foster cultural understanding and strengthen the Filipino community abroad.
Attendees included students, faculty members, Chicago Public Library coordinators, local officials, and members of the Filipino community, all of whom participated in the celebration of Filipino heritage and the spirit of Christmas.
