and the "Procedural Guide for Shipping Medicines/Drugs for Medical Missions"
Any foreign organization intending to bring medicines and/or medical equipment to be donated or used during the conduct of medical mission must comply with the requirements of the Department of Health's Bureau of International Health Cooperation (DOH-BIHC). DOH-BIHC shall then facilitate the issuance of a clearance by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Bureau of Health Devices and Technology (BHDT) for the drugs, medical supplies and medical equipment.
The requirements of the DOH-BIHC may be found on the following website www.doh.gov.ph (click on Doing Business>Medical Missions).
Foreign medical professionals must apply for Special Temporary Permits to practice their professions while conducting the medical mission in the Philippines. The requirements for the permit are also found at the DOH's website.
DOH-BIHC also suggested that the organizers contact the Commissions on Filipino Overseas (CFO) which assists organizers of foreign medical missions.
